The Parish of St Paulinus Church is directly next door to our school. We love being part of the St Paulinus Parish and enjoy being part of the wider community within it. Our school chaplaincy team are made up of our Head of School (Mrs Bircham), our clergy (Father Peter and Father Ferdinand), governor and parishioner (Frank Campbell) and parishioners (Maggs Harrison and Michael Coughlin). In addition, the lay chaplain at Sacred Heart Secondary School (Rosie Hayman) has recently joined our team.

Our chaplaincy team meet termly to plan spiritual experiences for our pupils. These include:

  • Whole School Mass alongside our Parish
  • Retreat Days for our pupils
  • St Paulinus Parish Church Open Door for our Year 3 pupils
  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
  • Prayer through music experiences
  • First Holy Communion Programme

We also have benefited greatly from the dedication of Gel Heagney and Malcolm Garbutt, as well as the ‘crafty ladies’ in helping  with creating an altar for our new chapel, a altar cloth and decorating the candles which Bishop Terry blessed when he visited our school in September 2025.

In addition, our love of St Carlo Acutis developed through the relationship that we have with our St Paulinus Parish. This led us to having an incredible experience with Anna Johnstone, who brought a relic of St Carlo Acutis to us in the summer of 2025. We joined with our Parish in asking St Carlo to pray for us. Fr Peter took our petitions to Assisi.
