In Loving Memory of Matthew Blades

Dear Parents and Guardians

Today, as Matthew Blades is laid to rest, we, as a school community, remember him with great sadness, pride and affection.

Matthew was a former pupil of St Paulinus Primary School, and he will always hold a special place within our school community. We remember not only the young boy who was once part of our school but the person he became, the life he lived and the lasting impact he had on those around him.

Our thoughts and prayers are especially with Matthew’s family, friends, colleagues and all those who knew and loved him. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and hope they find strength and comfort in the memories and love being shared today.

As a school and Parish community, we have begun plans to create a prayer garden within our school grounds, which will provide a lasting reminder of Matthew and all those we wish to remember. It will be a peaceful place for reflection and prayer and a meaningful way for future generations of our school community to remember those whose lives have touched us.

We are only at the beginning of this journey and will be able to share more details about our plans for the prayer garden over the coming months.

Please join us in keeping Matthew and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
